Sixteen Candles The Curse of the Werewolf vfw The Dallas Connection |
Release: Mar 04, 2015 - Author: Once - Translator: DaxRider123 Censorship within the ChaptersSome of the chapters as well as the cutscenes were altered. Sometimes you will immediately notice it, at other times not so much.Chapter 1 - An Emergency CallSebastian regains consciousness and is hanging headlong in between several corpses. Soon, the Sadist appears and takes care of a corpse that hangs right next to Sebastian. When the Sadist goes back to his slaughtering room, he in the Uncensored Version carries a severed body with him that leaves behind a trail of blood on the floor. In the censored Japanese Version he simply carries an unscathed body with him.
In the Uncensored Version there is a slaughtered corpse on the Sadist's slaughtering block – not so in the Japanese Version.
Since the Sadist only took the upper half of the body with him in the Uncensored Version, the lower half is still hanging in the chamber. Since the Sadist took the entire body with him in the Japanese Version, there is no piece of the body left in the chamber.
Since there is not dissected body in the Japanese Version, the trail of blood was also taken out.
Chapter 2 – RemnantsThe first encounter with the Haunted is a reference to the first encounter with zombies in Resident Evil and was censored for the Japanese Version. In the Uncensored Version the severed and gnawed head falls to the ground. In the Japanese Version, the head is neither being eaten nor severed.
Chapter 4 – The PatientSoon after the beginning of the chapter you run into Dr. Valerio. The latter fiddles about with a corpse and does not seem to take Sebastian's interruption too kindly. The difference is very noticeable: In the Japanese Version there is a body bag on the table, while the Uncensored Version shows a corpse. Additionally, the wound on Dr. Valerio's head is different. In the Japanese Version there is no skin hanging down from it.
Of course, the subsequent cutscene is alsoaffected by this censorship. In the uncensored Version, Dr. Valerio cuts into the body, while he in the Japanese Versin just cuts into the body bag.
After the cutscene, a radiogram clarifies that there is a key within the corpse. In the Uncensored Version you cut up the body, while in the Uncensored Version, the cut only enters the body bag. Conveniently, there are stitches right where you would have to cut. In the Japanese Version, the color of the corpse (or rather the body bag's content) was changed.
If you walk past the house towards the square with the fire, you will in the Uncensored Version hear a woman scream for help. If you save her (by shooting the Haunted), the woman will run to a small cabin in panic and leaves 2000 Gel as a reward. If you do not save the woman, the Haunted will throw her in the fire. This skripted event was entirely taken out of the censored Japanese Version. All of the following images come from the Uncensored Version Chapter 6 - Losing Grip on OurselvesTwo Haunted pull Joseph to a guillotine. If you are not able to shoot both enemies in time, Joseph will be decapitated. In the Japanese Version the game fades to black just before his head is cut off.
Note: The decapitation of a townsman a few minutes earlier was not altered, yet the actual decapitation is shown from farther away. During the first bigger battle of this chapter you have to fight boss enemies number 9 and 10. The latter is trapped behind a door which is opened by a Haunted. To thank him for this, number 10 beats the Haunted up and smashes his head in the Uncensored Version. In the Japanese Version, the Haunted simply flies away and drops dead.
Note: Even though the head is not smashed in the Japanese Version, smaller pieces of flesh fly around. Chapter 9 - The Cruelest IntentionsDuring the ninth chapter you enter a mansion that reminds of Resident Evil. Additionally, one of the riddles was censored. In order to open the door on the ground level you have to hit three heads at the right place with a probe. These heads were altered for the Japanese Version.
Note: Even though the heads look rather fake in the Japanese Version, they still bleed when being hit by gunfire. |
