Bungie's always had some degree of control. Not every decision they've made since their split with Activision was a good one. Everyone's excited over the game heading in a more 'hardcore' direction with player customization/etc but it's a double-edged blade; if they're really trying to associate D2 with an MMO, that'll undoubtedly mean more busy/tedious work.If you're not into looter shooters, D2 likely won't change your mind but I will say that the graphics are amazing, the OST is great, and the gunplay is quite satisfying. The game has a high amount of polish.
It'll be F2P soon though so anyone can try it. As much as I like the game, I haven't played in a while because there's very little incentive for me to jump back in. I'm waiting on the upcoming updates because imo, the game doesn't have the same addictive gameplay loop as other looters. Hoping that changes. The raids in Destiny are kind of seen as the endgame and they're usually what put players up to the task with usually the challenge coming down to coordination but equipment often plays a strong but not completely necessary part.The coordination is usually because the raids are one parts puzzle that require players to do unusual things not yet seen in the normal game. Such as the latest raid has a sort of 'hot potato' mechanic that can be traded, shared, but always active.I would say in that way they're challenging as you at least to be competent in combat and at least a good understanding of your equipment and nuanced buff chaining/mixing.
